A comment from Vivienne Blake made an idea bulb flicker, and another from Someone is Special made it glow bright.
The April Heights, being part of the month of poetry, every reader might not be able to read every other haiku that comes on a prompt at Haiku Heights. so a fair voting might not be possible.
So rather than that, this page can be now used as an interaction page. You can express your views about a particular haiku, why you liked that; or where someone can improve their haiku. This can be a forum for that positive criticism. I'm still moderating comments, so any offensive ones will not find their way to the published ones.
Have fun!
Leo.

I am making an exclusive page for Haiku Heights for the month of April ~ just click on the Tab entitled Haiku April Haiku Heights ~ Hope that works for you ~ thanks, namaste, ^_^
Thank you Every One, each one if you out there. just 3 days into this, and we had many many wonderful, beautiful haiku..
keep going..
regards,
jayanth.
I still think I'll pick two favorites from each day after the links are closed. My picks for April 1st are Ellecee and Anthony North. Ellecee for the interesting parallels drawn in her two haiku and Anthony North for his poignant thoughts wrapped in a cyclic haiku.
It's so hard to choose just two, but my favorites for April 2nd are Grace's deserted beach scene with silent whispers and Jeannette's "Invitation to Grace" with its peaceful call to serenity :)
I try to visit as many as posts and I must say, which is better is the toughest question, the deep feelings are expressed so beautifully, that I am unable to write words for it. Thank you so much Leo for the wonderful opportunity and thank you all the wonderful poets, bringing the beauty of life and nature with your beautiful words....Thanks.
I am very flattered to have been chosen by wordcoaster as a favorite. Thank you so much for that. As for myself I cannot choose among all of the wonderful poets who are appearing here. Each and everyone is so unique in their approach to the prompts and I am so impressed by their work. I also want to thank everyone for their comments to me and I try to reach back to you. Thank you Leo, I am enjoying this challenge very much.
Again, a decision is nearly impossible, but my personal favorites for April 3rd were Ramesh Sood's "Magical Childhood" haiku and Pseu's simile haiku. Loved both of the starkly different images they conjured up :)
So, where can we find the links to other's poems? Or is it just me who can't actually see them? And, of course, I can't upload my link :-)
Links would be in the prompt posts itself, Mariya. Can't put the linky widgets everywhere :) You can upload your link there too.
Leo, thanks a lot for the fast response :-) It seems I had problems with Blogger yesterday, because there were no links anywhere :-D Pity, because I couldn't read or post... So, no more time wasted, but to the haiku!
Thanks again
You may doubt my judgment on this, but my two favorites for April 4th were Gemma Wiseman's shrouded words and Mike's powerful haiku narrative, both very different takes on "Doubt". :)
Several good ones today ... my favorites for Day 5 are Grace and wordcoaster!!
Thank you becca! I wavered with my decision for quite some time, but perhaps my two favorites are Kendall's sunny waves and Niebla's hairy haiku :)
I'm very excited to have just made my first contribution for today's prompt, seashore! I'm looking forward to visit the other poets and read their haiku :) Thank you for this lovely opportunity!
April 6th was full of hopeful haiku--my personal favorites are Andy Sewina's doubly hopeful haiku and Leo's beautiful simile "In hopes.." An extra-special thanks to him for hosting this poetic event :D
Forgive me for only picking two, but my favorites for April 7th are Tigerbrite's "The Passion" and Patti's "Forgive You Not". Enjoyed the punch packed in both of these, though on very different topics. :)
Lots of poems still playing in my head as I write this, but I must say, of all the entries for April 8th, Grace's triple threat and susanwritesprecise's "Dating Tips" are my favorites. Grace's seemed innocent enough, but carried a beautiful and powerful message. Susan's was hilarious :)
Thanks for the lovely words wordcoaster.
Leo, can you include a note to turn off word verification to make commenting easier?
I know that some of us here are veterans but there are some new writers writing haiku. If you have the time, it would be nice to include a short "lesson" about haiku writing. If you don't have the time, I can send you some short articles as reminders of the form and spirit of this writing. Thanks for all that you do on this site ~
There is a page on Haiku Heights itself, Grace. Each post has a link to that page, and it is quite visible on the menu bar too :)
Thanks Leo. I forgot about that page. :-)
Even those burned by the sun can appreciate beautiful seashore haiku ;) My two favorites are viv blake's 9 lines about Seychelles seashells and Mr. Walker's foggy beach scene. :)
I want to take a moment to thank everyone who has left comments about my haiku contributions, each and every one is appreciated. For myself it's difficult to find the adjectives to describe how I feel about everyone's work. Words like, nice, pretty, lovely, unique, super, well done, are all ones that I use. Although these are very common words I want you to know they are sincerely meant when I write them. Thank you,, Leo, for hosting this April event. I'm enjoying it very much.
This is a note to everyone who has Blogger and who has not turned OFF the word verification: Those jumbled words are REALLY HARD TO READ! If you feel the need to filter your comments, why not just use comment moderation, and turn off the word verification? It would make leaving comments ever so much easier. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am glad to be part of this Haiku Haights April Challenge. I love to write haiku and seek some thrills to write new ones on given prompts. I will not be easy, because English isn't my maiden language ... so sometimes maybe I choose the wrong words ... please be so kind to bring that sort of mistakes under my attention :-) I will learn to write English without mistakes I hope.
Hi everyone, sorry but I'm not able to turn off word verification. I don't know why it's not letting me turn it off. I contacted Blogger to help me fix this. Thanks to those who left a comment as I'm new at this and I appreciate the encouragement. I've been returning the visits. Thanks :)
Trying to stay on top of this--April 10th held many hot haiku, but here's my Summery summary: my favorites are debu's sizzling words and Cheryl's Excellent Adventure past a sunbaked field. Just a friendly reminder--I've been enjoying everyone's poems (some of which I still cannot comment on, unfortunately), but I am (for better or worse) a syllable stickler. I only select 3-5-3 and 5-7-5 haiku as my absolute favorites :)
One other point if you will allow. There are still few blogs on blogger that do not allow for name and URL. This means I cannot enter Tigerbrite @ www.planetcyberluz.com so I am unable to leave them a comment however wonderful their work.
April 11th--so many possibilities! I ended up choosing Kendall's swirling open-ended haiku. (I'm a sucker for rhyme--though that's often frowned upon in haiku circles)and my other favorite was kaykuala's humorous conversation, with a brilliant use of parenthesis in the final stanza. :)
April 12th. I hope this comment is coherent--every day brings very difficult choices, but today's favorites are Magical Mystical Teacher's "What Coherent Tales" with its reflective question and Diana Teneva's mindmelding haiku :)
April 13th produced many warm feelings as I read quite a few brilliant haiku. My two favorites are Enigmatic Soul's "Incomplete"--a brief haiku that proved its point quite well and Reflection of feeling's "Warmth of sun" with its sliver of joy :)
Hey everyone... After half a month's practice... Trial and Errors... I have learnt to write haiku... that is 5-7-5 most of the time!!!
DO check out my blog's follwing link...

wordcoaster, thank you so much for the kind words.
Richard
I'm still enjoying this very much. The writing and the reading too. Some days I become stuck but it doesn't last :-) You all help with that. There is really some beautiful haiku coming out of this challenger. Hope I make it every day to the end.
April 14th has a unique aura all its own--complete with another incredibly difficult choice. My favorites are Mariya Koleva's "Dark purple aura" with its simple cascading flow and Gemma Wiseman's shrouded gate haiku. :)
A warm thank you to Jinksy who kindly let me know that the word verification removal finally worked! So my blog is now word verification free! Thanks for all your visits and nice comments. I'm enjoying reading everyone's haiku :)
I am really enjoying this challenge Leo thank you so much for launching it and administering it so efficiently. I don't know whether it is my computer but I have been unable to click into Becca's post for the STILL prompt, it comes up as 'page not available'.
Oh.. she had put a text instead of a link, TB. I didnt notice. Its fixed now.
April 15th was certainly a wonderful day to be alive, and a wonderful day for haiku. My two favorites are Pranita's happy "Leave Held Breath and Breathe Again" with its giddy joyfulness and Mohini Puranik's "know Their Plight" with its plea for awareness of those suffering worldwide; we are not the only ones alive :)
Oops -- sorry about that!! Thanks, Leo!
Thanks a lot wordcoaster for specially mentioning my haiku.. M delighted you liked it so much! :)
A request here... Can't we please have a similar challenge for MAY month too.. it's so addictive that my heart wishes for more!!! Wat do you say folks???
Leo.. pls make a list for May too please!
Hope we are still doing Haiku Heights on Saturdays? ~ Thanks again for Haiku April ~ Wonderful ~ hugs and namaste, ^_^
I hope you will forgive me for being so behind in reading, but for April 16th my two favorites are Invisible Silence's call for honesty and debu's whispers of shared life :)
Thank you for a successful month, Leo!! It was fun!!
I wonder when I'll finish all of these haiku. Hopefully before the end of May... My two favorites for April 17th are ToE's caffeine-induced "the taste of it" and Karen, Something Written's heavenly haiku. :)
I'm very happy I was part of this inspired month of poetry! Wordcoaster, thanks for picking my stuff as one of your favs for Day 14, I noticed just now... There are other poets whose works and words deserve better than me, yet Thanks again for your appreciation!
Apologies .. for haveing not seen this on going interaction. Kind words "word coaster" !!. This month was fabulous for me..
